Paul Mazer, The Century of Self (via nevver)

this is a really good documentary series - very important if you want to have a better grasp of how in the past century, citizens became consumers, and advertisements quit being about a quality product but a means to fulfill latent, subconscious desires. It seems to anticipate the way people behave now, where people would rather have a semblance of being autonomous and individual rather than being simply & uniquely themselves.
